A short piece, including quotes from Julia about plastics vs paper.  Unfortunately the article is not strictly accurate.  You may notice that the author says that paper bags take 6 times more energy to make and then quotes me as saying that the same amount of oil is needed to make a paper bag as a plastic ones.
